Wohlfahrtswerk für Baden-Württemberg is a foundation with a long tradition and at the same time a modern, highly efficient social enterprise. We are one of the biggest providers of care for the elderly in Baden-Württemberg. A team of 1,900 employees cares for around 2,000 elderly people in residential care homes, day care centers or gives assistance at home.
As an employer we offer an inspiring and varied work environment: Our Foundation has the mission to maintain social services and facilities and to encourage and implement social innovation. Consequently, a large aspect of our identity as a charitable foundation lies in the continuous further conceptual development and innovation of the services offered by us and the implementation of model projects.
Our organization has been in existence for more than 200 years and has experienced far-reaching changes over its history, therefore development and evolution are paramount. This includes not only the further development of our organization and our products, but also the development of each and every one of our employees. We are aware of the significance of forward-looking personal development. This includes offers of education and further training, encouragement of individual workplace design, and a receptive ear to our employees’ ideas. The Foundation runs its own Education Center, which allows us to offer our employees the opportunity to keep abreast of the latest developments and findings, and to continue learning in line with their personal strengths and interests.
Wohlfahrtswerk is a sound, dependable employer. In its quality as foundation, it benefits from a solid financial substance and attaches particular importance to sustainable, long-term growth rather than rapid short-term expansion. As an employer, we do our best to avoid staff cuts and to treat the problems and life situations of our employees with respect. Open, frank interaction and trust form the basis of our actions. Trust and a sense of security are further strengthened by our policy of regulating precisely the tasks and fields of responsibility or our staff members, and by transferring responsibility and decision-making powers to them.
