Recent Projects ProCareful - PRO.active CARE F.or U.sers L.ife

Elderly and vulnerable people wish to be taken care of in their homes. Technical solutions can support the independent living of people in need of care and also their home care services. Due to this reason Wohlfahrtswerk takes part in the international project “PROCAREFUL - PROactive CARE For Users Life“ that aims to develop a future-oriented idea for home care services based on a hybrid model.

The hybrid model brings innovative digital elements into a diverse mix of professions and qualifications (e.g. informal and formal caregivers, managers, policy makers) and is adaptable to rural regions. Its goal is to support caretakers and to strengthen cognitive and physical health as well as to reduce social isolation of the elderly.

The partners work on a solution that combines face-to-face care with remote and digital support based on machine learning and artificial intelligence. Wohlfahrtswerk is responsible for testing the model in Germany. Further tests take place in Croatia, Italy, Poland and Slovenia. The idea is to adapt the model to the regional political and social conditions and to be expanded on other regions later in time.
